Celebration of the Senior School Annual Sports Day
St. Stephen's celebrated its Annual Sports Day 2016 on Feb 2, 2016.
The eventful day promised to dazzle everyone in the resplendence of glory and success. The participants stood in the field with dreams in their eyes and enthusiasm in their hearts. The meet was declared open by the headmaster, Mr. Louis Lopez. It formally commenced with a march past by the four prestigious houses of the school. Watching the students march ahead in perfect synchronization was a treat to the eye. After this, the Head Boy of the school, Arjun Mittal took a solemn oath on behalf of all the participants, thus instilling a feeling of camaraderie and integrity among all the participants. Next was a spectacular display of yoga that left the spectators spellbound.
The sporting events began with the 100m, 200m and 400m races followed by the relays. The obstacle races too were extremely challenging, where participants exhibited tremendous amount of zeal and courage to fight to the finish, amid cheers from their teachers and friends. The tug o’ war seemed the ultimate test of strength and skill. The participants battled to the finish and gained the appreciation and thunderous applause from one and all.
The spectators were excited to hear the final results which were declared promptly. Mars and Saturn house shared the glory together of winning the first position with 165 points each.
