St. Stephen's Football Academy had the honour of welcoming back one of its most distinguished alumni, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, the captain and goalkeeper of the Indian National Football Team. Gurpreet, a former student of the academy, visited his alma mater to meet and inspire the next generation of footballers. Mr. John Xavier Vice Principal, Surinder Singh Head coach and other coaching staff were present to welcome Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.
During his visit, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu reconnected with his former coaches Surinder Singh and Amanpreet Singh expressing his gratitude for their guidance and support during his formative years. He also expressed his special gratitude to Mr. Harold Carver Director of St. Stephen's School and other coaches (Bhupinder Singh, Bhupinder singh Pinka and Sandeep Singh) for their guidance and support. He shared personal experiences and memories, highlighting the importance of dedication, perseverance, and hard work in achieving success.
Gurpreet engaged in an interactive training session with the young trainees, sharing valuable skills and techniques that have propelled him to the top of Indian football. His motivational talk emphasized the importance of dreaming big, balancing sports and education, and continuously striving for improvement.
The young players were thrilled to participate in fun football activities with Gurpreet and took away important lessons from his journey. He spent time interacting personally with the trainees, signing autographs, and taking photos, leaving a lasting impression on the budding footballers.
