Asian Football Confederation and All India Football Federation Grassroots Festival was celebrated at St. Stephen's School, Sector 45-B, Chandigarh.
A Total of 110 students of 6 to 12 years of age (girls and boys) participated in the festival of football. They were divided into 14 teams and played four rounds, in which there were two games and two workstations. Work stations included 1v1, dribbling and scoring.
The idea behind the celebration of the grassroots day was to popularise the game in the Asian region and to improve the quality of football in Asian countries, which is only possible if we concentrate on grassroots training, and involve more children at grassroots level.
All the participants were awarded with a Gold Medal each.
St. Stephen's School is already running a Grassroots training center at Sector-45B, Chandigarh under the guidance of Mr. Surinder Singh (FIFA Grassroots Instructor).
