St. Stephen's 45 clinch ICSE cricket title 2015-10-15
Chandigarh: Hosts St Stephen's school defeated St Xavier's School, Chandigarh, by 32 runs to lift the title in the final of the ICSE junior cricket tournament played at St. Stephen's School, Sector 45, on Thursday.
Batting first, St Stephen's scored 110 for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs. Karanvir Deewan was the top scorer for the batting side with 36 runs. Kartik made an unbeaten 26, while Sanjogdeep Singh scored 16 runs.
For St. Xavier's, Khushpreet Singh picked up two wickets for 17 runs.
Chasing, St. Xavier's School could only manage 78 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Himanshu made 12 runs, while Bhavya, with 20 runs, was the top scorer for the losing side, Khushpreet Singh added 11 runs. For winners, Abhinav (4 for 13 runs) was the pick of the bowlers. Vinayak (2 for 11) and Bhavya (2 for 19) were the other wicket-takers for the winner.
