The Investiture Ceremony
Venue: School Auditorium, Date: 2nd May 2016
'If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more then you are a leader' is a famous quote by John Quincy Adams.
The Investiture Ceremony of St. Stephen's School for the academic session 2016-2017 was held in a special ceremony at the school auditorium. The event was presided over by the Headmaster, Mr. Louis Lopez. It was conducted with the utmost degree of sincerity and enthusiasm.
'St Stephen's confers upon its students the ability to be future leaders of the world'. Keeping in synchronisation with this thought, St. Stephen's School, Sector-45 B, held its Investiture ceremony. Mr. Harold Carver, the Director Principal of the school, has always envisioned that the pupils should gain confidence by facing challenges in life. The event began with a devotional hymn 'The Lord's My Shepherd', sung by the school choir. This was followed by an inspiring speech by Ms. Vibha Vasudeva who highlighted the significance of the four houses which correspond to the four planets of our universe. She also reiterated the democratic and transparent selection procedure for the prefects and council members.
The newly appointed council members were adorned with sashes and received their badges from the teachers, House masters and House mistresses of both the junior and senior wing. The Headmaster, Mr. Louis Lopez, in his speech, emphasised on the importance of discipline and dignity of the individual and the school. He believed that students are nominated on the basis of discipline, academics and behaviour so that they can be role models to their fellow schoolmates. The School Captains, Pratham Kalra and Yashika Khairwal, took a pledge on behalf of the Prefects that they would uphold the values inculcated by the school and always strive to do their best and fulfil all duties entrusted to them with utmost sincerity. The new Head Boy, Shayiq Ahmed Shah and Head Girl Reet Malik led the Student Council in their oath.
The event ended on a note of positivity and willingness. They were ready to encounter the challenges that would come their way and always aim higher to reinforce the school motto, 'Semper Sursum.'
