The Chemistry department comprise five teachers. Classes 6 to 10 are divided among them. The teachers are well trained, hard working and take a lot of pains in explaining the basics of the subject. Besides the normal teaching, a lot of emphasis is given to the practical work so as to develop an interest and also improve understanding of the subject. The department has a well-equipped laboratory with a trained lab assistant who is very helpful while conducting the practicals.
The students participate in declamations and Inter-school Science Symposium competitions and have won many a prizes. The teachers attend in-service training and their knowledge is updated from time to time. The teachers also guide the students in making some working and non-working models to be displayed during Science Exhibition. Each student of class 10 prepares a guided project on a relevant topic of Chemistry.
Year 2012-2013 was celebrated as the "Year of Chemistry" due to the Centenary celebrations of the famous chemist "Marie Curie". Vishal Rana bagged the first position in the State Level and stood second in All India Seminar Competition.
